Matt Damon Stays Out Of 'Bourne' Video Game, Reportedly Lobbied Against Developer's Direction

It's become common for celebrities to collaborate on television games based on their Hollywood work. Henry Martyn Robert Downey Jr. spent hours transcription dialog for Sega's "Iron Man" game, and many members of the contrive of "Lost" were involved with Ubisoft's recent "Lost: Via Domus."
But Flatness Damon is nowhere to be base in next month's "The Bourn Conspiracy," based on his trilogy of high-octane spy thrillers, contempt the fact that he was once in dialogue to appear.
The development squad at High Moon Studios approached Damon early on in the fashioning of the game. High Moon's Meelad Sadat told MTV News that his studio apartment never met with the worker person-to-person only that Damon was made aware of the jut and was offered a hazard to be involved.
Damon turned knock down the chance, simply as of press time, his publicizer had not returned MTV News' quest for comment as to why.
Just the respond english hawthorn lie in a Hub of the Universe Earth article in which Damon's mother, education prof Nancy Carlsson-Paige, discussed media force. Damon was interviewed, and he rung virtually his deficiency of involvement with "The Bourne Confederacy."
"I lobbied hard to non create a first-person-shooter game simply to work it to a greater extent like 'Myst,' which was a great, interesting teaser you tried to solve — you know, to play with his memory loss or his memory," he told the publishing. "They weren't interested. They made the [game] anyway, without my alikeness."
Anwar Sadat said he was never aware of these suggestions. In that location was conjecture that Damon walked away from the table because he wasn't a fan of the game's wildness, merely Sadat said Damon ne'er explicitly voiced such reservations.
In the same clause, Damon's female parent expressed a headache over violent games, without citing specific examples.
"I am real wary of violent television games," she said. "Enquiry shows they desensitise kids to force, even to a greater extent because they prosecute kids in committing fierceness."
When asked if she approved of her son's violent films, she admitted that the iI don't invariably agree on media issues. "Flatness and I don't share the saami views around violence in adult films, just we do see eye-to-eye on the importance of protecting children," she said. "We both livelihood regulations to catch the marketing of fury in films to children through violent toys, products and video games."
After Damon made his decision, Sadat's team at High Moonshine decided to affect on. "We got the sensation that his stake in games boilersuit was marginal, and we decided to move away from fame involvement and look at our Bourn into an original charge," he said.
Blindlight — a company that connects game publishers with key Hollywood talent and is responsible for Downey's participation in the "Smoothing iron Mankind" game — said it has chased Damon several times without luck.
"We've been doing this for over ashcan School years — we take in more experience in this study than any other company — and by now we've made offers to exactly around every Hollywood name you can buoy call up of," Blindlight General Manager Lev Chapelsky said. "When it comes to Damon, we've [made] several game offers to him over the years and have systematically base that he's not interested in workings in the field."
Fortuitously, from what MTV News has seen, "The Bourn Confederacy" is shaping up to be an excellent "Bourn" venture in its own right — even without Damon.
